Keep your pot empty......

 Hi friends,
Last Saturday-Sunday I was learning new Aero-Kickboxing and Fitness Kickboxing lessons from my mentor and martial arts

master. He always teaches us to keep our mind totally empty before coming to every class irrespective of our experience in

martial arts or kickboxing. He always says, "Keep your mind empty, just like an empty pot. If pot is full, it can not hold

water in it and water will overflow and pot remains with what it has in it. Same way if you come with some prejudice or

thoughts like: 'Since so many years I am practicing this(Martial Arts), and so many students learn from me. What new am I

gonna learn here?', then you can not learn that new knowledge, that new aspect, that new method or anything new."

I realize this every time I attend any of training sessions from my martial arts master.

Most of the times we guys go with thought that, 'Hey! so many times we have learnt this' or, 'C'mon, I teach these things

to people, then why master is calling all of us, to learn these things from him again'. But then every time, we get many

new things to learn from him and it keeps me astonished.

Same thing I have experienced from many other masters. It is very much important to keep our mind empty and welcoming for

every bit of knowledge we may get from different sources.

I have started realizing this thing recently quite often that, when we keep our mind empty of all kind of perceptions and

prejudice, we can learn all that is there to learn .

Try to keep your pot empty and let's see.....

SOMETIMES.......(The Poem I wrote in my Engineering College Days)

Sometimes you feel, your skies are gray
& destiny is cruel 'n making you it's prey
Sometimes this world seems upside down
Life seems like a desert and world rotates around

But don't forget in the desert there is oasis
You may be sweat-soaked but enjoy soothing breezes
You have to cross this desert to reach your destination
This won't last long, don't let die your motivation
You should keep moving 'n keep high your will
You don't have to lose your soul and lose this deal

'cause it may be highly difficult but it isn't impossible
and the things which come sometimes last long only "SOME TIME"

Something about good thoughts......

Hey friends, hope you all spent your week end enjoying with your family and doing things which you like. Following are some good thoughts.
.....................................................................................................................................................
Try not to become a man of success but a man of value -  Albert Einstein

"Prayer" is a free outgoing call to GOD. No Battery. No charging. No network problem. Always good signal. Endless talk-time. So keep praying.

Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.

Champions are not supernaturals. They just fight 1 more second when everyone else quits. Sometimes 1 more second of effort gives you the victory!!!

Choice, not circumstances determine your success.
.................................................................................................................................................
Friends, good thoughts keep us away from all kind of negativity and addictions which abuse our health.
Everyday, I read some good thoughts early in the morning. That is the good start for the day and whole day passes, filled with enthusiasm for life and inspiration in every breath.

Try this and Let's see....

One of the Greatest donation is Blood Donation........

I had done Leadership Development Program from one of the Elite Institutes of Mumbai as my first I.T. employer wanted me to complete it successfully.
Very first day we were asked to do blood donation, preferably in government hospital and get certificate as proof of blood donation. People who were weak or not eligible for blood donation due to some health problem were asked to convince some other person for blood donation and get his/her certificate of blood donation and letter from the donor that he/she has done it on person's behalf.
This was supposed to be done within a week.
I went for my first blood donation in my life and it was a very good experience. The nurses and other staff in the hospital blood bank were very good and welcoming.
I got certificate for blood donation. Also they gave me donor's card by showing which I could get a certain number of bottles of blood free in case of an emergency.
I passed my Diploma in Leadership from that institute successfully with a medal for Best Speech(by Audience Poll), a cup for Successful completion of a Project, and a coin for winning debate.
After almost one-one and half year after this I joined a new job and was working with one of the reputed computer institutes as a faculty, teaching few programming languages and databases.
One day I got call from my boss, asking if I can donate blood for one of our student's father. I rushed immediately to the hospital; but the needed blood was AB-, the rarest one. My blood group was different.
I waited there for quite long time so that just in case I can donate my blood and the person in need of blood can get blood of his blood group in exchange. But it didn't work.
I had my blood donor's card. I left it there with the patient's family so that they can utilize it just in case and left for my job.
After almost a month, I was helping my students with practicals in computer lab. Meanwhile, an old man came there. He was looking at me with smile on his face. I could vaguely recognize him. But I was unable to recollect who he was. This person came straight to me and almost touched my feet, I moved back holding him with my hands with surprise and embarrassment as all of my students were watching; a person of my dad's age was about to touch my feet. I asked him, “Why are you doing this? I can't recollect, but I guess we know each other.”
The old man said with tears in his eyes, “Sir, Thank You very much, I am alive today because you left your blood donation card with my relatives almost a month back. Because of your card, I received blood from Government Hospitals' Blood bank and doctors could perform operation on me, which was successful and I am healthy again.”
By that time, almost all of staff from our institute was there and everybody was looking at me with proud, along with my boss. This old man had brought a packet full of different sweets as a token of gratitude and affection for me which, he insisted, I must accept.
I had to. Everybody present there congratulated me for the good work I had done. And we all enjoyed the sweets brought by the old man.
That day onward I donate blood at least once in a year.
Do donate your blood it's really is a great thing to do.

Become “the Bigger Line”.....

When I was a kid, once I came across a puzzle. It was asked to draw a vertical line of 4 cm., on a black board with chalk. Now without cutting or rubbing this line, it was supposed to be made small.
How?
Yes, many of us might be thinking, what a simple puzzle!
The answer is simple, we can make this line smaller by drawing bigger line besides it.
So, now we have this solution with us. Have we ever given a thought on this puzzle? What it actually means or do we get any message from this one?
Well, friends today morning when I woke up, don't know from some corner of my brain came this puzzle in my mind and I started thinking.
I got one message.
In our life we have some foes, some fr-enemies, some enemies, some back-stabbers etc. etc. Whenever we come across such people and are hurt by them, we wish to teach them some lesson. We wish to revenge. Isn't that true?
Well, I am not gonna preach here and bore you with philosophy to forgive such people and leave it to GOD take action against them etc. etc.
No No No No.....in fact I would suggest to teach them the toughest lesson, take your revenge fully but indirectly.
How?
Become so big in your life, dear friends, that our these opponents become very small and become jealous with us.
The first and foremost thing is prepare a very good plan to become very big in your life.
Plan for what you want in life? What you wish to become? Plan for everything except taking direct revenge on these opponents.
Sounds philosophical....may be but it's the best way, I believe.
You plan and concentrate on what you want; may be a very big bungalow, or a limousine or particular no. of million dollars or anything it might be.
You don't boil your blood with the thought of revenge and waste your time and actually fulfill your revenge by becoming “the bigger line”.
Well, I would recommend to make much wider and bigger plan about your life. The bigger you become in life the smaller your opponents become.
Just think, (names and incident in this example are fictional) John is colleague of Ronnie. John is very bad person. He insults Ronnie always and doesn't let him speak a single word. John has lot of friends in organization who are his alike. All of them together have made Ronnie's life a hell in the office.
Ronnie is very timid and straight forward, simple person and not able to concentrate on his work because of the harassment he is suffering.
What should Ronnie do?
Well, Ronnie boils his blood by worrying over how to take revenge on John and company. And actually never succeeds in doing this and more and more he lands himself in trouble and gets more frustrated. (Does this story sounds similar somewhere with most of us?) But that's what John and his cartel want.
What's the use of Ronnie's worrying or being anxious?
Nothing.
Instead, Ronnie chooses to concentrate on his work and to grow in the organization. Suppose, John is so big in organization that Ronnie's life has become hell there and John may interfere with Ronnie's growth in the organization. In this scenario Ronnie decides to quit the organization and join some other organization and obviously gets better pay than what he gets in former one. At this point itself John and his cartel will be jealous of Ronnie and will be totally helpless. At this particular juncture itself Ronnie is happy, John and his cartel is total misery and shock. Isn't it?
Further suppose Ronnie buys a very big apartment in posh locality or Ronnie buys a nice car and somehow makes this news reach to John and cartel.
Tell me friends who is gonna boil more and more blood and who will be happier?
Our friend Ronnie or John and Cartel.
Solution is simple, Become “the Bigger Line”.
It is bit difficult but much better and works fantastic.

To Be Good or Bad? that is a question....

Recently once again I read that story of the Sage, the Scorpion and the Hunter; in one of the leading news papers. The story in short is as follows.
There is a sage taking bath in the river and he watches a scorpion, which is on the verge of sinking in the water. The sage holds that scorpion in hands and takes it to river bank with an intention of saving it. When the sage is about to put the scorpion on one of the rocks safely, the scorpion stings the sage badly. Still, sage puts the scorpion gently on the rock and returns back to complete his bath and other rituals in river. Again sage watches the same scorpion, is about to sink in the river. Again sage helps scorpion land on the safe rock and again scorpion stings the sage. This repeats again almost for 4-5 times and is observed by the Hunter, hidden in the woods nearby the bank of river. When one more time sage is about to save scorpion the puzzled hunter comes out of woods and asks the sage very eagerly, “Oh great Sage, why are you so much bothered to save this dirty and ungrateful creature and why is not allowing to die it sinking into river?”. The Sage smiles and replies with lot of affection, “My Son, To save and to love is my nature and to Sting is Scorpion's nature. Even if it's stinging me I can't change my nature for it.” Etc. Etc.......
Many of you must have read this story many a times, isn't it?
Well, let's come to other side now......when I had read for the first time, teachings of Arya Chanakya(Please Google with word CHANAKYA to know more about this great Indian Scholar.) I hadn't understood, why it's written about being shrewd and how to behave and depict your personality particular way etc.etc. Also I had read about Niccolò Machiavelli and Machiavellianism in my M.B.A. Studies under the subjects of Human Resource Management as well as Organizational Behavior. I was confused why ever on earth one needs to learn these things of shrewdness, conspiracy, being dubious about surroundings always and lot many political things which are supposed to be bad characteristics as such.
If we follow life like the previous-story-Sage, we will be very good person and if we follow the way Arya Chanakya or Machiavelli suggest to live then we will be kind of bad, comparatively.
What is the better way of living life?
The former suggests sounds better one but it is not practical. The later suggests is practical but, the mind doesn't agree to live completely that way.
What to do?
Dear friends, the world is really full of very different kind of people. The kind of people we can't at all imagine about. And many of us are stung by ungrateful scorpions at least once in our life. Well, I came across one of the verses in the literature of Arya Chanakya which means, “THE SNAKE, EVEN IF IS NOT POISONOUS MUST ACT LIKE ONE”. And that is the real answer I got.
We must remain neutral with every one around us. As much as possible we should help others and at the same time avoid our personal loss. We must use our common sense while judging situations and people. We must remain alert in order not to be stung by the ungrateful Scorpions. How? Well this is where we can use theory of Arya Chanakya and Machiavelli.
I got the answer that, at heart, we should always be purest and harmless creatures of GOD, we must be sinless creatures, but at the same time, in practice we should follow the way Arya Chanakya and Machiavelli suggest in their respective literature.
In very simple words I wish to say, at heart be truest of yourself but while depicting your character and personality in front of the world (everyone except I is my definition of world.) use Machiavellinism and Chanakyaniti.
This is my personal experience that life becomes smoother and peaceful after experimenting what I have written above.
Just because, we are at heart what we are and at the same time the ungrateful scorpions of this world don't dare to sting us even once because of, what we are displaying to world.
Also, by studying Chanakyaniti and Machiavellianism, we can analyze and understand motives of people around. That helps us achieve success and peace of mind.

Turn your blues to pink ……..

Two or three days back I don't remember exactly when, I read on one of social networking sites which I regularly visit, 'If you hate a person, rarely someone will come and convince you, how nice is that person. But you love a person, there will be at least 1000 people to convince you, how bad is that person.’
On the same lines I have experienced that if you involve in doing stupid things with people let it be gossiping or back bitching or abusing someone then people will join you surely for the cause but you start doing something good or speak about something good like meditation, helping others etc.; comparatively very few people will join you.
Same thing is true about emotions. I have heard from one of my spiritual GURUs, “If someone tells us, ‘I LOVE YOU’ then immediately we ask, ‘REALLY?’ But if someone tells us, ‘I HATE YOU’, we never ask ‘REALLY?’ Also when we are happy or everything in life is going good then we are doubtful and worried is it real? Is it going to last? But when we are miserable or in poor state of mind we are sure that it is what our state of mind is and we think it is going to last almost forever”
In today’s world we observe people doubting each other. People not sure what will happen with them tomorrow. There are many people who are very positive and enthusiastic about living life, but the comparison between former and later reveals that former kind of people are far more than later ones.
Suppose someone always wants to be benevolent and wish to do something good to humanity and to every living creature. But by mingling with all kind of people he/she is getting disturbed and becoming negative as more negative people he/she is getting and can’t keep doing his/her work. So should he/she start avoiding people or put some kind of filter? Well that’s necessary to certain extent but doesn’t help you much. And when you are living in society it becomes necessary to know whereabouts of your surrounding and we are bound to meet all kind of people.
What should we do to avoid negativity or negative emotions?
Well, I did one experiment; I started concentrating on my work. Also while someone is telling me something I started keeping very neutral view towards it. Also, I started focusing totally on my goals, my vision and my objective. (First of all I prepared them.)
I started putting time intentionally for mixing with people who have common interests with me. I started doing things which I like. I started avoiding arguments and keeping my view very neutral and if necessary towards positive side. I avoided negative emotions if ever they occurred in my mind and observed them with neutral view and immediately replacing them with good ones like happiness, gratitude, love, and passion.
Also the most important thing I stopped doubting positive emotions and good things said to me.
My observation after this is, there come positive and no-nonsense people around you, everywhere. You get your own space to live-think-act. Naturally, I started saving more time and enjoy my life better way.

Let's be grateful for every small thing we get...we have.....

Today morning I was doing my everyday work in office and one of my colleague and also a good friend came to me and said,"Hey Ranjan, I am losing my hair." Subsequently we had brief discussion on that. When we went back to our work I felt thankful to GOD that I have nice thick black hair. I thanked GOD for that again and again. We must be thankful to GOD for every small thing GOD has given to us like intact and flawless body and limbs.
Job, food to eat, Shelter to sleep peacefully, Vehicle we own.
Every religion on the earth teaches to be thankful for what we have but
do we really follow that. OK....let's think for two minutes and take a note of what we were
thinking past few hours.
Most of the times we are complaining about what we don't have and rarely
we are thankful for those things which we have much better (or at least good enough), isn't it?
We can be grateful for every small thing we get, the breath, the love
and support from parents or other family members, whatever good things our siblings do for us, love and affection of our spouse.....list is endless. But we concentrate of that half empty glass of a water always instead of looking at the half filled.
Choice is ours after all. My observation with the experiment of being grateful for every small
thing is we remain happier and enthusiastic to live every next moment of our life and this helps in achieving new things we wish to do or experience. Just think, if you are thankful for something in your life and then do you really need to worry for that particular thing? The answer is big NO, right?

Then make a list of things for which we are thankful for.
And be thankful for those things every moment.
Carry this list in your pocket and whenever you are free (like traveling
in train/bus etc., Standing in Queue....etc. etc.).
Whenever we are thankful for every small thing....we get chance to see
more miracles in life and get more things for which we can be thankful for.
In simple words we become more and more happy and achieve more and more
that's the reason probably I could do so many things and display them in my profile.......
Use this technique and let's see....

Programming our mind....

Today morning in office I was trying to crack logic for some program with my collegue.
He said repeatedly "Hey, my SQL knowledge is very poor. I can't do this". We are working on this particular program since last week and he said this statement at least 5 times. I just asked him, "Do you have some kinda dislike for SQL or seriously you find it difficult."
He replied, "I seriously find it difficult, although I wish I should handle it with ease."
I asked him then why are you repeatedly saying that It's difficult and you can't handle it, this way you are programming your mind that you can't work with it and it's difficult.
He agreed.

There was one of my friends( now we are not friends due to some prob.s we had), he has habit of complaining about every person he meets.
Let it be a peon, a clerk, an accounts officer, an HR person, his neighbors, boss, colleagues every damn person he encounters he has problem with them. God knows Y?????
And he will try to convince you how so and so person is bad and selfish and against you.
Now this person- my no more friend- I realized about him with time that he himself is like that and keeps thinking about his own self interests only that's the way he looks towards his life........and others.....

Hey friends our thoughts are very much important....the way we think we create our world.
That's what my experience is life.

I have experimented certain things. Many a times I decide to concentrate on something say I want to learn dancing....then I start thinking about that day and night....with full excitement and deliberately.
My observation is that soon I get chance to learn dance....I get more knowledge about different types of dances. If I am not specific about which dance I wish to learn then I just get chance to learn any dance.
If I am specific about which dance I wish to learn then definitely I get chance to learn that only.
May be some testing moments will be there to check my determination but folks it's me after all who wants to learn dance.
We need to identify such testing moments that's very much important.
Try using these things and let's see......

Wake Up India....

Almost three years back I was working in Nasik. Every weekend I used to travel back to Ulhasnagar and then on Monday morning to Nasik. On Saturday evening I used to get taxi or ST bus to Kasara and then board into local train for CST. I observed certain things those days. Many families, all men, women, younger kids (as young as 5-6yrs old) used to fill every possible pot/utensil with water from Kasara station wash basins.  Then as train used to come they used to board inside it and get down 1 or two stations later. I asked once to one chap of around 9-10 yrs of age. He told me that this was their everyday business. They were staying in village next few stations to Kasara(towards Mumbai). I never saw light when they got down from train at their destination. I was astonished to see that regularly. Every Kasara train has gap of 1 hr - 1.5 hrs. Can we even imagine such life. If just one day we don't have water through our tap....what a havoc we face. Just imagine one day without bath...forget no water for latrine one complete day unless you get it from some 200 mtrs. distance.....hey so difficult. And here these people were getting it few stations away that also trains were having such a big gap in between.........
Another story.......
After leaving my Nasik job I got job in Mumbai and office quarter also. I have bike and I get thrill riding it on highway so I prefer to visit my home at Ulhasnagar  on bike on week ends. (Now a days I have stopped doing this because of some personal reasons and anyways I don't get time every weekend now to visit home)Every saturday evening I used to ride on bike to Ulhasnagar from Mumbai. After crossing Thane city on Mumbai-Agra highway there is one big cross (a junction at Mankavali), there I have always observed lots of people standing waiting for some transportation and most of them are asking for lift. I used to give lift to someone most of the time. And then used to chat with that person for some time. I came to know that these people work there in some industry or so and they stay very far off. They need to travel to Kalyan station which is around 30 kms. from this cross and then catch train to their home. I always wonder how these people must be managing there life. Well I have one question always in my mind why there is no transportation for these people? (Atleast till Kalyan Naka).......

Well guys, I guess this much of it is enough to wake up all of us from deep slumber in which we are just aware of IPL, Reality Shows(Where everyone is trying to be best Singer, Best Musician, Best Dancer etc. etc.).........when are we going to make our self strong enough by doing everyday exercise and meditation and going to think about our country and countrymen. Making our country stronger by our deeds and putting efforts on Nation Building........
Wake up India is all I want to say.....what happens lets see....

THE BATTLE OF LIFE....The poem I wrote in my Engineering College days......

Life is the battle
which don't expect to settle
You'll be stabbed from any side
From which, you can't at all decide
Life you've to fight
till success is in sight
Every success is a test,
which you've to fight next,
next time success, you may not find it
Just forget that & just don't mind it
'cause again who doesn't try
will definitely has to cry
Life is a battle of it's own kind
Just use your brain here and not at all a mind
The day you'll lose your heart
The success will shift far apart
"No Mercy" is the only law
else enemy will raise his claw
Someday you may be nailed
But don't think you failed
Lesson must be learnt from it
without uttering a single "BULLSHIT"
You may find in it, troughs and crests
but fight life dear without rests
Winning life completely, the moment is rare
You just have to fight & not to care
You may be thrashed & feel to whine
But you must always smirk and your face must always shine
Everynight, everyday, restless fight is the only way
"I've won in LIFE" if you wanna say

Doing things which you like....

Hi friends,

Many times it becomes very difficult for all of us to get time for our interests and hobbies.
We keep on doing our routine activities and we get bored. We desperately try to do things which we like and eventually we end up thinking....hey I can't do this......or complaining......Hey I don't have time.......
What's the solution to this?
I wish to share some experience.
Think whenever you are traveling or doing things like walking somewhere....doing something which needs very less concentration and anyways your mind is wandering....waiting for someone....standing in a Que waiting for ur turn.....
These are the most ideal situations when you can think about yourself.....about what you like? What is left that you wanted to learn desperately but was not getting time?
Think and immediately write on a piece of paper (Behind some old ticket in ur pocket, some useless piece of paper we forgot to remove from our pocket/purse...take it out) that you are gonna pursue this thing/hobby/interest and gonna learn it anyhow within so many days.
Well your work is done.....now rest is gonna happen automatically....
May be your wish will not come true in the said time period but guys It's my experience that may be after few more days we get a chance and we start doing things we like........
That's how I and my wife learnt and started swimming almost a month back.
TRY THIS FOR SURE and let's see.....

How nice to have your own blog.....

It's such a nice feeling to have your own blog.
A place where you can express yourself to world.
Whatever you think you can post.
It's such a good thing. Well, it's difficult to express your thoughts into words...but then it's needed....it helps improve your state of mind.
It's not possible for everyone that he or she should start a blog and start writing whatever comes to mind the way I m doing probably, but well then you need to do something like that.......hmmmmm
Again I am just scribbling something this n that....well well well
What m gonna put on this blog is
About Martial Arts(My Experience)
Kickboxing
Reading Stuff
Yoga
Faith
Reiki
Meditation(different kinda)
Movies
IT stuff
Life
Some Freaky stuff
well let's c what more......
