Hi friends,
Last Saturday-Sunday I was learning new Aero-Kickboxing and Fitness Kickboxing lessons from my mentor and martial arts
master. He always teaches us to keep our mind totally empty before coming to every class irrespective of our experience in
martial arts or kickboxing. He always says, "Keep your mind empty, just like an empty pot. If pot is full, it can not hold
water in it and water will overflow and pot remains with what it has in it. Same way if you come with some prejudice or
thoughts like: 'Since so many years I am practicing this(Martial Arts), and so many students learn from me. What new am I
gonna learn here?', then you can not learn that new knowledge, that new aspect, that new method or anything new."
I realize this every time I attend any of training sessions from my martial arts master.
Most of the times we guys go with thought that, 'Hey! so many times we have learnt this' or, 'C'mon, I teach these things
to people, then why master is calling all of us, to learn these things from him again'. But then every time, we get many
new things to learn from him and it keeps me astonished.
Same thing I have experienced from many other masters. It is very much important to keep our mind empty and welcoming for
every bit of knowledge we may get from different sources.
I have started realizing this thing recently quite often that, when we keep our mind empty of all kind of perceptions and
prejudice, we can learn all that is there to learn .
Try to keep your pot empty and let's see.....
