The real source of Happiness......

Hi Friends,

I am reading very fantastic book now a days. It tells about real source of happiness. Well, before moving towards the topic I just wanna ask you guys few questions which in turn you need to ask yourself.....
What really makes you happy and of self worth?
May be that car you own....may be the degrees you have earned through education....The bank balance....the home you own....the job title you have....The beautiful babe you have as a wife or girlfriend....What is it really?
Many of you will agree, one thing or other of the above mentioned things or similar things make you happy.
Just in case, if the thing/s which you possess is taken away from you....may be your job...or you just get bankrupt (GOD FORBID)......will you still be happy?  will you feel the same self-worth that you feel because that XYZ thing you have?

The honest answer to this will be "NO".
In simple words, we seek happiness in external things. We associate our happiness or our self worth with something external and then put extreme efforts to save our existing status and/or to achieve more and more....but are we still happy with these things really? The answer again honestly will be "NO".
The reason is that these all are, after all, external things from which we are seeking happiness.
Isn't it True?
Then where the real happiness is?
The real happiness is within us only.
Remember when we were just a kid, we were happy and felt confident and had self-worth, just like that, without any need of external things. That's what we really are.
As we grow up, we get so much conditioned to be happy with or to find self-worth in external things that we start finding reasons to be happy totally externally.
It starts with that pat on back for something good achieved or done.
e.g.- The first time you tried to walk, the kind of positive emotional responses we get from our elders or people surrounding us.
Right from there we are conditioned to find happiness/self-worth/confidence from external sources or from people around us instead within us.

Since, past few days I am practicing meditation very much regularly.
(I have learned Vipassana, Yoga meditations, Reiki, Art of Living Part-1 Course meditation......I realized that, that I had learned all these things to just get more labels in front of my name, instead of actually finding solace with any one of them.....because any one of them is more than sufficient if we practice regularly....to be very true.)
After doing Meditation regularly alongside reading the book about The Real Source of Happiness/Self-Worth/confidence, I realized that the real source of happiness is nowhere outside but it's totally inside......(The Title of book is totally different.....lolz....I was attracted to it just like that because it's title was intriguing....)
.........
Well, it's well illustrated and explained in the book.

The name of the book is:
JUST GET ON WITH IT! A CARING, COMPASSIONATE KICK UP THE ASS! - ALI CAMPBELL

Try to read it and Let's See.......

Kickboxing: Punches and Kicks

Hi folks....

Coming back to Kickboxing.
Kickboxing has Boxing Punches and Karate Kicks.
Punches in kickboxing are: Jab, Hook, Straight, Uppercut
Kicks are: Straight Kick(Mae Geri), Roundhouse Kick(Mawashe Geri), Side Kick(Kakomi or Yoko Geri), Back Kick, Reverse-Roundhouse Kick(Ura-Mawashe Geri)....these kicks can be delivered in standing stance or else by jumping in the air.
When kicks are delivered jumping in the air they are preceded by Flying-.
e.g.- Flying-Strainght Kick et. al.

More in the next post till then google about terminologies given in this post and let's see...

Khalil Gibran...on Parents and Children....

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let our bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Inspirational Thoughts.....

  • Life is a succession of lessons enforced by immediate reward, or, oftener, by immediate chastisement.
  • A person starts to live when he can live outside himself.
  • There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
  • There is more to life than increasing it's speed.
  • Don't be afraid your life will end; be afraid that it will never begin.
  • Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments.
  • Life is ours to be spent, not to be saved.
  • Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.
  • Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self-confidence of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense.
  • He, who kisses the joy, flies lives in eternity's sunrise.
  • Action springs not from thought, but from a readiness for responsibility.
  • Character may be manifested in the great moments, but it is made in the small ones.
  • Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
  • Not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door.
  • In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.
  • Genius is 99 percent perspiration and 1 percent inspiration.

Let's Start knowing the KICKBOXING........

Hi Folks....
As I had promised, here is first post about kickboxing.
Let's start with the running overview of Kickboxing completely.
Kickboxing is the sport which combines Karate Kicks and Punches from Boxing.
This is very basic thing one must understand.
Now someone may come up with a comment, if it's combination of Boxing Punches and Karate Kicks then man yeps I know it.
Don't mistake that way. It's not just that much. It's just basic beginning.

Well, different forms of Kickboxing for competition are:
  1. AeroKickboxing or Cardio Kickboxing or Aerobics Kickboxing.
  2. Light Contact Kickboxing
  3. Semi Contact Kickboxing
  4. Full Contact Kickboxing.
Apart from as a sport, many people practise Kickboxing for fitness, agility and flexibility as an exercise.
In this case people may practise Kickboxing as AeroKickboxing or Fitness Kickboxing(Combination of AeroKickboxing and Hardcore Kickboxing).

The major benefit of practising Kickboxing as an exercise is it keeps you fit, flexible and faster in movements.
Well, if practiced with target while doing punches and kicks, it helps you build self defense techniques.

In next session I will post more details..

Let's Ponder Upon.....

  • A life without an AIM is like an envelop without an address. A life with an AIM but no plan to achieve it, is like an envelop with address, not posted.
  • If you want to walk quick, walk alone but if you want to walk for, walk together.
  • You can not change your future but you can change your habits and for sure your habits will change your future.
  • People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does last bathing. That's why it is recommended daily.
  • The secret of getting ahead is getting started. -Mark Twain.
  • If you are believe in what you are doing, then let nothing hold you up in your work. Much of the best work of the the world has been done against seeming impossibilities.
  • Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.
  • When you do anything new, at first people laugh at you, then they challenge you, then they watch you succeed and then they wish they were like you.
  • Success of our life depends on the quality of our thoughts. But the quality of our thoughts depends on the people we meet in our life.
  • Only two types of people are happy in this world, one are MAD and other are Children. Be MAD to achieve what you desire and be a child to enjoy what you have achieved.
  • Every minute you spend in planning saved 10% in execution, that gives you 100% return on energy. Let's progress in a planned way.
  • Man improves himself as he follows his path. If he stands still, waiting to improve before he makes a decision, he will never move.
  • Champions are not supernaturals. They just fight one more second when every one quits.Sometimes one more second of effort gives you the victory.
  • Choice not circumstances determine your success.
  • We die to finish school, die to start college, die to start working, die to marry, to retire and finally while dieing, we realize that we forgot something. We forgot to LIVE!

Walking those few steps towards the GOAL.....the TARGET

Hey Folks.....

So how was the New Year’s Eve? Any new resolutions? Have you decided any new targets to achieve?
Do you think it’s difficult to make it and more difficult to achieve it? Well, so even I think it sometimes.  Let it be. Let’s change the subject.
When I was in 7th standard I had written one story which was published in one of the issues of the famous fortnightly. I had written that story just like that.
The story was:
There were two sages who were bosom friends. One day they decided to sit under a tree for meditation and chant GOD’s name till GOD himself appears in front of them. When they were busy doing all this GOD sent one of his angels to tell them that GOD will appear in front of them only if they will continue doing whatever they are doing till as many years as the number of leaves the tree they are sitting under has. The angel appeared in front of the sages and conveyed the message of GOD to them. After the Angel disappeared one of the sages said to the other that there is no chance to see GOD in this life as they can’t live that longer.  The other sage replied that he will continue till GOD himself appears despite any odds and reminded the first one that this is what they had actually decided. Former one left. And the other sage continued what he was doing. Right after the first sage left there was a big storm. The other sage still continued on his quest for GOD. The storm gradually receded and GOD appeared in front of the sage. The sage was surprised and overwhelmed to see GOD. It was just few hours before that the first sage had left. The other sage asked GOD that how is it that the GOD appeared so sooner. The GOD asked him to check how many leaves were left on the tree under which he was sitting. He realized there were no leaves left on the tree because of the storm. The GOD said further that whoever moves towards his goals firmly with full determination and is ready to face any number of odds; the GOD helps him/her achieve the Goal.

That was the story.
I personally believe that if we have belief in self and determination to achieve our Goal; the GOD too helps us to achieve it sooner.

Just take those few more steps towards your Goal with faith and let’s see......
