Hi Friends,
I am reading very fantastic book now a days. It tells about real source of happiness. Well, before moving towards the topic I just wanna ask you guys few questions which in turn you need to ask yourself.....
What really makes you happy and of self worth?
May be that car you own....may be the degrees you have earned through education....The bank balance....the home you own....the job title you have....The beautiful babe you have as a wife or girlfriend....What is it really?
Many of you will agree, one thing or other of the above mentioned things or similar things make you happy.
Just in case, if the thing/s which you possess is taken away from you....may be your job...or you just get bankrupt (GOD FORBID)......will you still be happy? will you feel the same self-worth that you feel because that XYZ thing you have?
The honest answer to this will be "NO".
In simple words, we seek happiness in external things. We associate our happiness or our self worth with something external and then put extreme efforts to save our existing status and/or to achieve more and more....but are we still happy with these things really? The answer again honestly will be "NO".
The reason is that these all are, after all, external things from which we are seeking happiness.
Isn't it True?
Then where the real happiness is?
The real happiness is within us only.
Remember when we were just a kid, we were happy and felt confident and had self-worth, just like that, without any need of external things. That's what we really are.
As we grow up, we get so much conditioned to be happy with or to find self-worth in external things that we start finding reasons to be happy totally externally.
It starts with that pat on back for something good achieved or done.
e.g.- The first time you tried to walk, the kind of positive emotional responses we get from our elders or people surrounding us.
Right from there we are conditioned to find happiness/self-worth/confidence from external sources or from people around us instead within us.
Since, past few days I am practicing meditation very much regularly.
(I have learned Vipassana, Yoga meditations, Reiki, Art of Living Part-1 Course meditation......I realized that, that I had learned all these things to just get more labels in front of my name, instead of actually finding solace with any one of them.....because any one of them is more than sufficient if we practice regularly....to be very true.)
After doing Meditation regularly alongside reading the book about The Real Source of Happiness/Self-Worth/confidence, I realized that the real source of happiness is nowhere outside but it's totally inside......(The Title of book is totally different.....lolz....I was attracted to it just like that because it's title was intriguing....)
.........
Well, it's well illustrated and explained in the book.
The name of the book is:
JUST GET ON WITH IT! A CARING, COMPASSIONATE KICK UP THE ASS! - ALI CAMPBELL
Try to read it and Let's See.......
